Description
Silver loving cup presented to M.E. Anderson by the Glenwood Concert Band in 1916. Has three antlers as handles and has a removable wooden base.
Attached write up reads: A handsome silver loving cup was given to M.E. Anderson after the regular band rehearsal Monday evening. It is of a beautiful design, graced with handles of horn and bears the engraved words 'Presented to M.E. Anderson by the Glenwood Concert Band.' The presentation speech by Cornie Wollan effectively expressed the band boys appreciation of the loyal support which Andy has given to band ever since its organization. Mr. Anderson will say good bye to Glenwood friends for an indefinite time and leave Sunday for Coffee Creek, Montana to take up his new position as cashier of the First State Bank of that village. The Glenwood concert Band is not the only organization which will feel the loss of Mr. Anderson. During the six years which he has occupied many positions of trust and has served numerous organizations as treasurer and served them all with loyalty and faithfulness which has never failed. Perfect excellence characterizes his work and it has been said of his books ' they are a thing of beauty and a joy forever.' By his genial good nature, pleasing personality, and his fine principles, he has won an enviable place in the hearts of Glenwood citizens, a place which is hard to fill. We are unanimous in regretting his departure but at the same time we as a community wish him the success and prosperity which is due in his home. Mrs. Anderson, in her quiet way, has also been a universal favorite. We are glad to have her with us for a few months more. She and her little daughter will make their home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Stinson until warm weather comes when they will join Mr. Anderson in Montana.
