Description
"Ornamental, 16" high vase, including one handle. One side is broken off. Tapered shaped, the bottom is 5 3/4" across and top is 3.5" across.
This graceful vase is made of pottery which is a black paint glaze has been applied. Scrolls and scalloped design in deep ivory and gold decorate top and bottom. Poppies in rose and mauve with green leaves decorate the sides. Graceful handle in gray black and gold. Short simulated legs, four of them, give the vase stability. Bottom is numbered 05. 7404.
This comes from the era of 1900s when poppies were much used in decoration, and lovely dishes, useful or ornamental, were treasures in keeping with the parlor of the day.
This was Mrs. Mary Olson's of St. Paul, the mother of Tagnor Olson, and from her collection of many dishes begun when she was a girl."
