Materials
Description
Army Jacket "Ike" or "Eisenhower" style. SIze 30 s. Worn by Vernon W. Poverud in the Korean War. Green wool with hidden buttons. There is a tab at the waist. On the left sleeve is a red patch with a white sword and wings for "SCAWAF" (Services combines Army with Air Force); each sleeve has a Private First Class strip. There is an Engineer pin on the left lapel and a U.S. pin on the right. On the pocket is a marksmanship pin, a good conduct bar and one for fighting cloods in CA.See family file for military history of Vernon W. Poverud.
