Description
Bender Album 2. On Back, "Maiden Rock - 6/28/96."

Bodice: Blue and brown plaid wool bodice. The bodice is short waisted. There should be 13 hooks and eyes. There are 8 eyes plus 5 missing. All of the hooks are missing. There is no collar. The neckline is small and rounded. There is one hook with no eye at the top of the neck. There is a blue velvet placket that goes down the entire length of the bodice. It is 3 3/4" wide at the top and it tapers slightly. On the placket at the top and middle are two sets of 3 pairs of buttons in a vertical row (2 buttons are missing). The buttons are black with 3 lines of gold "x"s. The sleeves are gathered at the top and have a little fullness. The cuffs have 1 1/2" wide blue velvet. The bodice waistline is cut straight. The inside of the bodice is lined with brown cotton. There is blue velvet around the bottom of the inside waist. There are 2 loops on the top inside shoulder. There are 2 hooks to attach to the skirt. There is one bone in the center. There is a stay without a bone on the left side. On the inside back printed in black ink is "G. Erickson". Condition - 5 eyes and 13 hooks are missing. 2 buttons are missing. There are tears and worn spots. There is some tattering. MOLD - The bodice had mold. It was laid out to dry and was vacuumed on 1/26/2006. The bodice was worn by Edla Marie Zachrisson Martinson. She brought these clothes when she came from Sweden c 1885.
