Description
Violin and bow in case."Conservatory Violin" reads the marking n the back. It is missing its strings. Back has flamed appearance. Ebony fittings on finger board, tail piece and pegs. Slightly mended at the bottom. The bow is a genuine Brazil wood bow, ebony frog with inlaid dots. A quote from Christ Berg of Hoff Township, "This old violin is a copy of the old Stradivarius make, and was bought as a used violin in 1902 in Pope County by the oldest Berg brother. There were seven of the, all of whom learned to play. Two are still living and playing" (1972)
Their names were Carl, Albert, Christ, Albert, Ole, Louis, and Benjamin. A photo of the brothers was donated as well.
The case is lined with purple floral paper and is very worn.
