Black and white image of the Winona Amateur Radio Club holding their annual Field Day event. This is a national Amateur Radio emergency preparedness event held the last weekend of June every year. The groups set up somewhere that they don't normally have a station, and operate for 24 hours straight. This particular picture was taken in either 1956 or 1957, most likely 1957. The location is Paul Brom's garage, at 3741 W. 6th St. in Goodview. Seated in the front row (along with their amateur radio call signs), left to right, are Robert Czapieski (K0IHV), Paul Brom (W0LUX), Robert Stanek (W0HAH), Martin Peterson (W0LN), and George Boller (K0DHI). Standing, L to R: Robert Kauphusman (W0NE), unknown, Keith Walsh (W0MLJ), Steve Boller (K0DHH), Willard Hoeft (W0QXK). Steve Boller is George Boller's son. The picture was in Martin Peterson's estate, and is being donated by Ken Spittler (N0JP).
