Description
Gray Scale Photograph of Lake Center Switch Company's factory located at 167 West Second Street in Winona. The building was constructed for Max Bemel by the P Earl Schwab Construction Company for use as a Auto Wrecking Company and auto parts store. It replaced a building that was first used as a hotel, the St Louis House, which was built around 1857. The property was purchased by Claude W Whittaker in 1948 and rezoned from commercial to light industrial to allow Whittaker to operate a manufacturing plant within the building.
