From description on the box:
Our speaker is a native of Rollingstone and a student at St. Mary's College. His family came to this area from Luxembourg in 1860. He has been interested in local history since high school days. As a part of his curriculum, he has prepared a paper on the above subject that brings to light some little-known aspects of our early history dating back to 1650-extending up to about 1870. Speaker introduced by Mr. Charles Lane, Instructor in American frontier history at St. Mary's College.
A Christmas party will follow-as of last year. Santa Claus in person will arrive at about 9:00 P.M. with a load of gifts to distribute to all present. Each one is asked to bring some home-made or hand-made object, an antique or historical artifact, carefully wrapped to conceal its identity. Suggested items are,-old toys, Christmas tree ornaments, candles or lamps, Christmas cookies or bakery goods, books, old tools or kitchen utensils, etc.
This promises to renew cherished memories of old-time Christmases.
The children of the Homer School will decorate the tree with ornaments made under the supervision of their teacher, Mrs. Irvin Blumentritt.
A sextet of girls from the 5th and 6th grade of Dakota School will sing Christmas carols, through the courtesy of their teacher, Mrs. William Stetzler.
Reel also includes a test recording and training in use of recording equipment and subsequent test reading. Transcript and recording of this not included in this record but is saved to the WCHS server.Geographic Names
