The Chosen Valley Tour. On this coming Saturday afternoon, we are conducting a long-awaited tour over the Old Territorial Road to our neighboring community of Chatfield. The drive thru the countryside - so beautiful at this time of year - to Margaret I. Snyder's "Chosen Valley" - should be a memorable experience.
Chartered buses will leave the Lumbermen's Building promptly at 3:00 p.m. Reservations must be made in advance for seats in the buses and to provide the proper number of dinners at the banquet hall at the Chatfield Hotel. Reservations are necessarily limited to 75 by the facilities at the hall. A certain number of tickets are being kept available for members of the Fillmore and Olmsted County societies who will join us there.
Mr. George A. Haven, grandson of a pioneer CHatfield settler, has arranged an historic tour when we arrive in Chatfield. This will include a stop at the fine old Lovell House, where some of our members may care to climb the stairs to the ballroom on the third floor. Other sites that are referred to in Miss Snyder's book, "The Chosen Valley," will be pointed out.
Mrs Haven will assist her husband with the program that will follow the dinner in the banquet hall of the Chatfield Hotel.
