Description

Wood carving of the Old Church by carver John Engh (carved in 1984). Back of carving says "From Ethel Hedman "in memory of Gammelgården" and 10-22-93.

Written by John: "A tree like a mustard plant of the Bible has a small begining (sic); From a tiny seed. It is a wonderment of God's creation; For it gives us beauty, shade, and is a home for many forms of wildlife. It is a provider of food as well as shelter and all to (sic) often we take it for granted. It is only right that we take some of this wonderful gift and erect a place of worship to our Lord God: 'Gammelkyrka.' Scandia, Minnesota" This is above his signature and "Carver 1984."
