Description

These batteries were used on crossing signals and railroad signals as battery back up in case of power failure.  They were maintained by adding pure battery acid when needed.  They were replaced with sealed lead acid batteries and then these were replaced with NiCad batteries.  This battery was found in an abandoned battery box in the city of Luverne.
