Swedish: Bindmössa
A women's frame cap, or hat, made with purple silk and featuring embroidery in green, blue, clay and off-white. Hand sewn; pleats in back. Lined with cotton, left section has scrap of blue and white plaid cotton. Worn as part of a women's traditional provincial Swedish folk dress, or folkdräkt, costume. Donation records indicate the hat was made in the 1880's. Unattributed.
