Description

“Tai Derm” is labeled on the bottom of the wooden block the doll is kneeling on. She's wearing black head cloth with a black shirt with red lining, green cloth belt with silver chain attached. She also has on a colorful black wrapped skirt. The doll belongs to the ethnic group Tai Dam, meaning “Black Tai”. They got their name from the color of their clothing. 

Geographic Notes
Bought in Vientiane, Laos by Clarice Osborn in the early 1970s. Osborn brought them with her to the US in Brenham, TX.
