Description

“Kha Lee Saw” is labeled on the bottom of the wooden block the doll is standing on. She has on a black head wrap with a string of beads wrapped around and red strings come attached to the headwrap. She is wearing a multi-colored shirt with orange pants and a front-and-back apron that runs the length of her legs. Multi-colored threads are tied as a belt and run down the back of her legs. On her back is a woven bamboo basket tied to red strings that she is holding in her hands. She is wearing silver earrings, necklaces and bracelet cuffs on each wrist. This doll belongs to ethnic groups in Southeast Asia.

Geographic Notes
Bought in Vientiane, Laos by Clarice Osborn in the early 1970s. Osborn brought them with her to the US in Brenham, TX.
