Description

The doll is labeled “Tai Daeng” on the base of the wooden block. Tai Daeng has a brown woven scarf on top of her head. Round silver earrings, silver and beaded necklaces with silver cuff bracelets. She is holding a round woven bamboo winnowing basket. Tai Daeng belongs to the Tai Daeng group, meaning Red Tai, in norther Vietnam and Laos.

Geographic Notes
Bought in Vientiane, Laos by Clarice Osborn in the early 1970s. Osborn brought them with her to the US in Brenham, TX.
