Description

“Meo Khao” is labeled on the bottom of the wooden block the doll is standing on. The doll is wearing a black headwrap with a black and white striped ribbon. She is wearing black embroidered shirt and skirt with a front apron that has cross-stitched design on it. Around her waist are pink and green sashes. She has a bamboo weaved basket that is held on by red strings and held in her hands. This doll belongs to the ethnic group, Hmong, in Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand.

Geographic Notes
Bought in Vientiane, Laos by Clarice Osborn in the early 1970s. Osborn brought them with her to the US in Brenham, TX.
