The story in this story cloth depict of the Hmong migrating from Laos to Thailand. There is a river on the lower half of the cloth. There are two bamboo rafts, one with four people, two men and two women, and another one with three people, two men and one woman. There are five people swimming across the river, with three of them using bamboo to float.
Below the river is the depiction of Thailand. When Hmong people got to Thailand, there are Thai officers at the border that'll take the Hmong in and registered them to refugee camps.
The depiction on top of the river is of Laos. Throughout the Laos region on the cloth, there are Hmong people, some carrying a bamboo foraging backpack (kawm) while others are carrying big sack on their back. There are a few depictions of Hmong women carrying a baby on their back. There are Laotian soldiers on the right side of the cloth who are in pursuit of getting rid of anyone who does not surrender.
