Description

“Lao” is labeled on the bottom of the wooden block the doll is kneeling on. She has her hair pulled up in a bun with gold hair accessories. She is wearing a blue embroidered shirt with a blue sabai, striped fold-over embroidered wrap skirt, and gold earrings, cuff bracelets on each wrist and a necklace. The doll is holding 2 sticks that is meant for the miniature xylophone instrument (HM2017.01.19b). This dolls represents the Laotian culture is Laos.

Geographic Notes
Bought in Vientiane, Laos by Clarice Osborn in the early 1970s. Osborn brought them with her to the US in Brenham, TX.
