Description
This batik panel is used to decorate Miao clothing. It was made prior to 1990 by members of the Miao community in Guizhou Province, China. This embroidered panel is one of the pieces that were taken from existing jackets that were no longer in use. Linn Veltema acquired the object while traveling to Guizhou Province, China in 1999 from a Chinese collector.
This is a batik panel with two panels of different designs are sewn together. There intricate details of lines, dots, and swirls.
