Description

This doll belongs to a Southeast Asian ethnic groups in northern Laos and Thailand. She is kneeling on a wooden block. The doll has a black hat with orange pompoms at the top. The hat also has a black and white striped ribbon wrapped around. She is wearing a black shirt with red lining and has an embroidered skirt with an apron in the front and a pink and green sash wrapped around the waist. The doll is holding paj ntaub and holding onto a blue thread.

Geographic Notes
Bought in Vientiane, Laos by Clarice Osborn in the early 1970s. Osborn brought them with her to the US in Brenham, TX.
