Description

Mammoth molar, this is a 8 pound petrified pre-historic mammoth tooth. The tooth measures 12 by 6 inches and was found by Carl Baeranwald in a gravel pit near Luverne in Rock County. The tooth is from the lower jaw. Its form would further indicate that it is from the right side of the jaw. Teeth in the upper jaw (Skull) have a convex grinding surface to oppose the lower tooth's concave grinding surface. Age 20,000 to 10,000 BP
