Description
Doll, male, wire, cloth, wood and thread.  Depicts a fiddler wearing the traditional provincial folk dress, or folkdräkt, of Leksand, Dalarna, Sweden. The outfit consists of a white jacket and white knickers with blue and white trim, a blue vest, a blue braid ‘bow tie,’ a white shirt collar and cuffs, white stockings, and natural wood shoes. He has yellow/blonde thread hair and a painted face, and he holds a wood fiddle and bow, made of flat wood with features drawn in ink. Original notes indicate he wore a black hat, which is currently not attached. Original Gammelgården artifact number D-0243-11. Attributed to Charlotte Weibull.
