Description

A female doll made of cloth, wire, thread and paint. Depicts traditional provincial Swedish folk dress, or folkdräkt. The outfit includes a red skirt and vest with vertical green stripes and black hashed lines, with five black bead ‘buttons’ on the vest, a black ½-apron with vertical stripes in red, green and red/blue and a black, red and green braid waistband and ties, an antique white blouse with lace on the cuffs and collar and a ‘pearl’ beaded pin, a tall black hat with black, red and green braid embellishment on a lace headscarf, black ‘leather’ shoes, red stockings, a white cotton ½-slip and bloomers.  Doll has yellow thread hair worn in a bun and painted facial features.  Attributed to, or in the style of, Charlotte Weibull.
