Description
A female doll made of cloth, wire, wood and thread.  Depicts the traditional provincial winter folk dress, or folkdräkt, of Leksand, Dalarna, Sweden.  The outfit includes a black skirt, a ½-apron with vertical stripes/print in red, white and black, a black pocket purse with red trim and a red and yellow floral detail, a white jacket trimmed in ‘fur’, a yellow hat with white trim over a red headband and lace, white stockings and bloomers and black wood shoes.  The doll has yellow (blonde) thread hair worn in a bun and painted facial features.  Original Gammelgården artifact number D-0237-11.  Fabric tag inside skirt on seam: “Charlotte Weibull”.  Intake notes indicate the doll should be holding a baby in her left arm, but the baby is currently missing.
