Description
A female doll made of cloth, wire, wood and beads.  Depicts the traditional provincial folk dress, or folkdräkt, from Torna Hallestad, Skåne, Sweden.  The outfit includes a blue skirt with a black velvet band near bottom hem, a striped ½-apron in blue, red, orange and purple, an off-white blouse, a brocade vest with black and green over a black bodice with green and white beads forming a flower, a blue headscarf, white stockings and bloomers, and black shoes with wood soles.  The doll has ‘mocha’ brown fiber hair and painted facial features.  She holds a ball of purple yarn and the knitting project it feeds into.  Original Gammelgården artifact number D-0304-12.  Early Charlotte Weibull.  Tag: “Weibull, Folklore, Costume, Sweden”.  A handwritten tag pinned inside the skirt reads: “Camilla free”.
