Farther down the river, the photograph shows the roof of the house poking up out of the water, a boat floating along the river, a metal windmill hiding within the trees on the right side, and the tops of buildings behind the tree line. The backing material has a hand-written inscription: “Red River in Flood 1897 at Fargo + Moorhead”.
