Description
A female doll made of wire, cloth, birch bark and thread.  Depicts the traditional folk dress, or folkdräkt, of the Sami, or Saami, or Sapmi.  The outfit consists of a blue dress/tunic with red and yellow trim at the neck, cuffs, and bottom hem and a red braid sash, a red and yellow v-necked scarf, a blue cap with red trim and a braid band, red stockings, and brown ‘leather’ boots with red decoration and red and white rolled cuffs.  The doll has black thread hair and painted facial features.  She holds a walking stick made of rolled birch bark.  Original Gammelgården artifact number D-0245-11.  The attached paper tag reads: “Charlotte Weibull, Malmo, Sweden ©”.
