FairbanksDescription
Cast iron and brass postal scale. Maker's mark on top end of ruler section ("Fairbanks"). The base is painted with green curved lines on top of the base section of the scale and an orange and yellow line on the edge of the base parallel to the bottom edge.Worn with age but no significant damage can be seen.
Ruler section identifies one side for use of measuring letters or books and printed matter (measured in cents as stated) and the other for use of measuring merchandise or newspapers and periodicals (measured in cents and ounces as stated).
