Description

A fishing weight made of three twigs wrapped around stones held in a woven birch bark pocket.  The twigs are wrapped in the four arms of the birch bark wrap and are secured additionally by twine wrappings on each side of one of the birch bark wraps.  The weight would help fishing nets remain submerged.  Made of twigs, stones, birch bark and twine.  See also T-0040b-26 and T-0040c-26 for similar items.  Thought to have been made in the 1800's.  Unattributed.
