Description

A fishing weight made of twigs, birch bark, stones and twine. A stone weight is wrapped in a pocket of woven birch bark that wraps around a surrounding ring of three twigs that are additionally secured with a length of twine. Such weights would be used to keep fishing nets underwater. Thought to have been made in the 1800's. See also T-0040a-26 and T-0040c-26 for similar fishing weights.  Unattributed.
