Description

A fishing weight made of birch bark, twigs, stones and twine.  A woven birch bark pocket holds a stone, or stones, and attach to, or wrap around, surrounding twigs that are further secured by wrapped twine.  The weight would help keep fishing nets underwater.  Thought to have been made in the 1800's.  See also T-0040a-26 and T-0040b-26 for similar fishing weights.  Unattributed.
