Description
A female doll made of cloth, wire, porcelain, metal, fiber and paint.  Depicts traditional provincial folk dress, or folkdräkt, of Rättvik, Dalarna, Sweden.  This outfit includes a dark blue skirt with a pocket, red waistband, and an inset ½-apron panel that has horizontal brown, orange, green, beige and white stripes, a pocket purse with red handle, white back, red front with yellow stitching and a green and white decoration, a light green bodice with red trim, metal buckles and pale green tie closure, a white short-sleeved blouse with scalloped collar and cuffs, a black cap with red trim and pompoms and white lace edge, two white ½-slips - one plain, one with a lace hem, and blue stockings.  The doll has a porcelain head with painted features and brown fiber hair worn in a pair of braids with red ties, porcelain lower arms and fabric around wire upper arms, body and legs.  See also DD-0252-26 and DD-253-26 for dolls depicting similar costumes.
