Description

A vest with an attached pocket purse that is part of a traditional provincial folk dress, or folkdräkt, outfit from Rattvik, Dalarna, Sweden.  The vest itself is red with vertical stripes in blue and green, has a wide dark red hem, decorative metal buckles that are laced together/closed with red ribbon.  The pocket purse is attached (sewn onto) the right side hem, and is black with a green interior body, and has orange trim and decoration that includes shapes in green, light orange and red/orange, with stitching in red, brown, and white.  The vest has an off-white cotton lining.  See also C-0240b-14, C-0240c-14, C-0240d-14, C-0240e-14 and C-0240f-14 for the other elements of this Rattvik folk costume.
