Description

A hat, or cap, that is part of a folk outfit made in the style of traditional provincial Swedish folk dress, or folkdräkt.   This hard-sided hat is covered in cotton that features a semi-floral pattern in brown, dark red, light blue, yellow and white.  (This fabric matches the vest of the outfit - see C-0471c-26).  The four-sided hat fits snuggly to the wearer's head, has a brown cotton lining, and features a 1" x 4" piece of styrofoam on each vertical side to protect the wearer's forehead.  Original Gammelgarden artifact number C-0288-20.  See also C-0471a-26, C-0471b-26, C-0471c-26 and C-0471e-26 for the other elements of this folk outfit).  Thought to have been made in the 1990's or early 2000's.
