Description

A dark orange, or rust, sash, or stole, with green satin trim along the edges, and scalloped fan-shaped metallic lace at the ends.  Near each end are black velvet ribbons setting apart embroidered decoration:  within the black velvet ‘X’ are blue and yellow flowers with green stems and leaves; above the black velvet band is a pyramid is white stitching, blue and yellow floral designs, and a yellow and blue ‘sun’.  These two sections are separated by a strip of metallic ribbon.  Worn as part of a traditional provincial folk dress, or folkdräkt, costume from Östra Göinge, Skåne, Sweden.  See C-0345a-21 through C-0345h-21 for the other pieces of this costume.  See also C-0594-26 for an apron from Östra Göinge, Skåne, Sweden.  Unattributed.
