Description

A blue velvet vest with blue shoulder straps, twelve holes at the center closure that are laced together by a length of red ribbon, and blue silk lining along the interior seams.  The vest is part of a traditional provincial folk dress, or folk drakt, outfit from Stockholm, Sweden (see also C-0263a-17 through C-0263d-17 for other pieces of this costume) and is dated to 1884 - 1885.  Unattributed.
