Description

A pocket purse of light blue wool with vertical stripes in pink, light blue and white, and horizontal lines in pink, with an embroidered pattern featuring a female figure at the top and a floral/tree image in the bottom corners.  Also embroidered: “E B, 1930”.  The arched top of the bag is capped by a rounded brass clasp with engraved floral and graphic designs, and a brass sliding brass lock, with a brass link chain strap.  The purse also has an off-white cloth lining.  Worn as part of a traditional provincial Swedish folk dress, or folk drakt, costume.  Unattributed.
