Description

A Sami, or Saami, or Sapmi, men's hat with blue felt and red felt strips with yellow felt lines around the crown.  Red felt around the body with rows of yellow felt, red and white rickrack, and narrow bands of Swedish braid in green, red, yellow and white.  The hat also features a very large red yarn tassel and a black leather visor with holes capped with white metal.  Worn as part of a Sami men's traditional folk dress, or folkdräkt, outfit.  Made in the 20th Century.  Unattributed.  See also C-0210-10 and C-0264-17 for similar hats.
