Description
A female doll made of wood, fabric, birch, yarn, ink and fiber.  Depicts a working woman, or arbetarkvinna.  The doll is clad with a skirt featuring vertical stripes in blue, taupe and white, a solid blue ½-apron, an off-white blouse and a knit blue shawl with fringe.  With a wood head that has ink-drawn facial features and taupe and white fiber hair worn in a back braid that is pinned up.  The doll also has wood piece hands and holds a woven birch basket that is painted blue, features white painted flourishes and a white painted “1993”, and contains three folded pieces of fabric and a wood stick.  Burnt signature on the bottom: “Arbetarkvinna Nr 3357, IB 1993”.  Attached paper tag: “Akta Borlänge gumma, Ateljé Ottilia, Inger Bergqvist, Borlänge, Sweden”.  See also DD-0286-26 for a similar Arbetarkvinna wood doll by Inger Bergqvist.
