Description

A wood carving of a Sami, or Saami, or Sapmi, figure on skis.  The figure is clad in a brown and white coat with red and yellow trim at the cuffs and collar, red pants, and a blue Four Winds hat with red and yellow stripes and white trim at the front with black, red and yellow accents.  The skier holds a round wood pole with both hands and is shown in mid-stride on short wood skis.  Carved atop a mottled wood base with white paint, evoking snow.  Maker's stamp on the bottom is occluded by a brown mark.  Attributed to Henning of Norway.
