Letter from UCare CEO Nancy Feldman to Minnesota Senator David Hann, March 16, 2011.  UCare’s letter to Senator Hahn gives notice that UCare will provide a “one time contribution of $30 million to the state of Minnesota.”  UCare’s letter characterizes the funds as “excess 2010 operating margin for state public programs.”  UCare’s contribution came in the wake of concerns that had been raised by David Feinwachs and others about health maintenance organization (HMO) management of Minnesota’s public health care programs.
