Title: Crew working on building foundation (?), Worthington. On a E. F. Buchan. stock card. This picture was taken by E F Buchan back in 1893 when Worthington residents were very much interested in their new courthouse project. The picture shows the mason work on the foundation of the present courthouse with the old frame building which served the purpose prior to that time standing in the background. The building was completed in 1894. - Information taken from newspaper article " The Beginning of Worthington's Main Building" Building the foundation for the Nobles County court house in 1893. The old court house (center) was moved toward 9th Street to make room for it. The old original court house stood in the center of the square facing 10th St. In front of it was an extremely large and high flagpole. Between that and the corner of 10th Street and 3rd Ave. was a large band stand for public concerts. In this picture the man in the center with a pail in his hand is my father, Thomas Crever. I am right behind him. Signed Willard Crever Taken/Studio/Manufacture: Buchan Studio, Worthington, MN Circa: 1893
