Description

Bunka work (punch work), or thread painting, of a Midsommar, or Midsummer, scene.  Rayon thread on linen. Scene features a red house set by a lake, with a Mai stäng, or maypole, in the yard, a girl kneeling with a bouquet of flowers, a rowboat pulled onshore near a small dock, a sailboat sailing  nearby, and a white swan swimming.  The foreground features colorful flowers. Original art donated by artist (Mary Jo Eggers) unframed (16'x12"), early 21st century.  See also AW-0089-23 for a similar piece by the same artist.
