Description
A round wood doll candleholder made of wood, paint and flax linen thread.  Painted to depict traditional Swedish folk dress, or folkdräkt, with a red skirt with vertical blue, green, yellow and white stripes, a white half-apron with vertical red, blue and yellow stripes, a red vest with green-trimmed scalloped peplum waist, a white blouse and a white scarf with red embroidery along the edges.  Beige flax linen thread hair wound around the head.  Red wood candle cups in place of hands.  The top of the right candle cup is singed/blackened.  Blurred stamp on base: “Hemslojd Boras Sweden”.  Original Gammelgarden artifact number D-0176-08.  See also DD-0089-25 and DD-0343-26 for similar round wood doll candleholders.
